Dear all, Georgie is quite ill. I don't want to be alarmist. We have seen her low before.
The facts are that the nurse is worried about her being able to pull through.
It seems that perhaps a number of complications have arisen including retaining fluid.
She has had some difficulty with breathing and we have had her on oxygen on and off for the last few days. Her breathing is quite shallow and she is very tired not even opening her eyes today during her shower.
She is peaceful though and we are very thankful for that.
We are all trying to read to her etc. Work has slowed down a little this week which has been a welcome relief and of course Ange and Em and James are all on school holidays.
The staff at Westmead were planning to discuss the possibility of getting Georgie's central line out yesterday and just needed to consult with surgery but thought it should be possible and they would arrange the patient transfer etc. No trouble really as long as the surgeon says it can be done. Anyway her immediate need is pretty serious.
"I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart.Wait I say on the Lord."

Monday 13th Sept
Dear Friends, well almost a month since we last left a comment. The worst of winter is gone and the spring is here with some lovely warm days. Anges garden is full of flowers and many more coming.
Well our nurse had a little party for Georgie at home with Ange and the kids on the 1st Sept because she got through winter without a trip to hospital. Indeed she hasn't been in since December last year. I don't ever want her going back there again either. Not unless they will do something useful like remove the central line tube which she still has inserted under her collar bone and which can no longer be used due to infection and being physically blocked. We are told it can't now be removed. It is a source of recurrent infection for her which is a problem. The hospital drs don't see it this way and i don't think necessarily care as they think she needs to die of something. (sorry to be blunt - that's just how it is)
Still learning to give Georgie to God daily to see what He will do - not doubting that one day He will do something great for her but just trying to trust and have faith, continuing to believe that He is good and all His ways are just.
I learned from our wheat breeder last week that the tiny germ end of a wheat seed already contains the first 8 leaves of the plant. Not that they develop after germination but they are already there -fully formed and waiting to burst into life. If ever we doubted the plans of God there just can't be. He says I know the plans I have for you..... Even down to the detail of a wheat seed He already has set in place the plans for that plant.
Em is going pretty well and not too phased by doing her HSC. Friday is her last day at school. I can't believe it. (It was only last week i dropped her off to start kindergarten!)
Work is very hectic with running 3 districts now due to staff absence.(one is off on stress leave)
Our home bible study from church has been good. We have been together for about 4 years and been through a lot together. one fellow miraculously recovered from a brain aneurism just 4 months before Georgie got sick. RPA said it was the worst bleed on the brain they had ever seen and he was not expected to live let alone recover 100%. It is encouraging to see them all with various things they battle with still clinging onto God and loving Him.
You may remember me writing about a little girl about a mile down the road who we met the family of one day when our dogs wandered away and how she had developed all of these issues with seizures etc. I found out during the week that she passed away in early winter aged 4.
Had a great visit from Mum and Dad last week. They are such an encouragement to us.
Well bless you all.

Friday 13th Aug
Hello all, sorry I haven't written in a while.
Work has been so flat out with staff absent and I am now helping look after 4 districts.
We are all well but looking forward to the end of winter.
It has been a long winter for Georgie but so far she has not needed to go to hospital.
Her main day to day issue (almost every day) is chest trouble brought on by so much pneumonia last year and lack of mobility has increased her susceptibility so frequent coughing affects her.
The nurses do what they can with physio etc and showering and so on but are also looking forward to warmer days when they can take her out in the wheel chair for walks.
If this doesn't sound too silly please pray Georgie will sleep at night and be peacefully awake during the day! For the last couple of months it has been the other way around- very exhausting!
Em is currently doing her Trial HSC.

Friday 30th July
Some better days recently with a bit of a bad cycle again since yesterday.
Shaky with temp overnight. So we have dosed her up on everything we can really.
We (including the nurses) are all hanging out for the end of winter and some warmer weather so we can get Georgie outside into some fresh air and for some walks a bit more often.
Our main nurse says "if we can get her through winter with no hospital admissions we will have done well." This will be good as she hasn't been in there since last December. Ange been so tired over the winter too as she has taken on the bulk of the care at night.
Please thank God for all of the help we get from these nurses. It would be impossible without them.
The nurses are planning to come out for a few hours each second sunday so the rest of us can go to church together again which will be a bit of a return to normality.
Our lovely Dr Sandra came out for a monthly check up on Tuesday and was happy enough overall.
Sometimes the gravity of it all hits again and we labour in prayer for Georgie.
Em and James are well.
Em starts the HSC in 7 months. She hopes to take a gap year next year and would still like to go back to Uganda for several months so she is trying to save up for that.
We had our first weekend away recently and went to Jenolan caves. Anges folks came up too which was great.
Well thankyou for your continued interest and prayer.
