Monday 20th July.

Dear friends Monday to Wednesday were the best 3 days together that Georgie has had at home. Very peaceful , somewhat awake at evening times and just looking around and much more reactive to touch than usual and very minimal seizuring. What started out as an excellent week went downhill rapidly and on Thursday Georgie was coughing and breathing a bit funny and by Friday evening (Georgie's 11th birthday) as I was driving Emily and friends back from their week at CMS camp at Katoomba Ange rang and said "I think Georgie has pneumonia". It was pretty bad so we got her things together and I took her in to the hospital where we were able to care for her better. I carried her inside and found a wheel chair right at the front door which someone had discarded and put her in that and was met by a friendly nurse half way down the hall who helped me get her sitting up better and got her down to the ward quickly where the nurses had a room waiting. The nurses pretty much left me alone to do what I needed to do and just checked in on us from time to time. By the next day Georgie was breathing well and very peaceful so Sunday lunch time she came home again. (before she caught any other bugs in hospital) So far so good since then.
I spent all that Friday night beside her praying and asking God to do what He wanted to do and by the morning she was breathing fine and off oxygen. James said he woke up all through the night and got out his bible to read and pray for Georgie.
I texted just 3 or 4 people and a pastor friend texted me the next day and said "I have alerted some prayer teams and by tomorrow night there will be around 800,000 people praying around the globe" - What a family we belong to!!

With her in hospital on Sunday morning Ange and I were able to go to church together for the first time in ages with Em and James. Iris May and Margaret from Parramatta Baptist had come up to see us too which was great.

The weather is warming up a bit now which is great.

Have been reading "The purpose driven life" which is quite helpful. It was interesting that 3 times from different sources earlier last week we received helpful notes etc about being tested and also about trusting God.
I had last week off work which was great as it was the first week we've all had at home together for a long time.
Ange and I spend a lot more time together talking and reading and praying than we ever have which is really good.
Well thanks for your continued prayers.

  2. Hi guys,
Praise God that Georgie is back home after that trip to the hospital. It's amazing to see the Lord work out all the small details too like the wheelchair left at the front door! He is so good.
Sending our love from the mountains,

    James 1:12

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial for when he has stood the test, he will recieve the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Just had that on my heart to share with you guys. Love to all of you!
