Monday 31st.

Hi there Georgie came home again on Thursday afternoon. I wouldn't say she was completely over the lingering effects of the pneumonia and tummy trouble but at least rested, rehydrated and back on track a bit. She has been fairly settled again over the last few days.
We received a number of messages from people who had said they had upped their prayer efforts during the week without really knowing.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

Wednesday

Hi Georgie went into hospital on Friday night as she had become so sick.
The pneumonia which she had a month ago has been lingering on and basically making her very ill so that she could not keep any food or liquid down. It became quite serious and so we got her into hospital on friday night. She was quite dehydrated. The staff put her on an IV drip and a stomach drain. Since then she has basically stabilised and begun to be able to hold food down again. We expect that she will remain in hospital until tomorrow. Please pray the hospital will be in no hurry to push her out. We have been able to get a bit better rest at home.
Please pray that God's presence would surround her.
Em and her friends all went camping at Mendooran for the weekend whilst they undertook the 40 hour famine.They had a great time.
I'm sorry i couldn't alert people earlier. In fact I was only able to tell a couple of people but by sunday morning all the churches were praying.
Psalm 36
v 5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains;
Your judgments are a great deep;
O LORD, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.

A friend sent this text yesterday. I find the Psalms help give us guidelines to pray.

Psalm 3
A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.
1O Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.” Selah
a
3But you are a shield around me, O Lord;
you bestow glory on me and lift
b up my head.
4To the Lord I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah
5I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
6I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.
7Arise, O Lord!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
8From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. Selah

Friday

Georgie has had quite a lot of sickness lately and has had trouble keeping a lot of her food down for some time. She has lost a little weight.
The other night I woke up at about 1.30am because the dogs were making such a racket barking outside (which they rarely do). I got up to see what was wrong, thinking maybe there was someone around and found Georgie had her arm out and was rubbing her sore ear so much she'd rubbed it raw and she'd also got cold and shivering. (She'd had a high temp earlier that evening so we had not covered her up so much as usual) I put her arm down, covered her up and tucked her in and spoke to her for a minute and she went right off to sleep. I went to see what was wrong and the dogs had stopped barking and kept silent the rest of the night. Funny.....
I went back in to Georgie, fed her, read my bible and spent an hour praying.
All in a night at the Brooke house.

Wed

Things are a bit up and down for Georgie but other than the infected ear have been a bit more up than down lately which is good. The antibiotics finished yesterday and now we just have to keep the ear clean and dress until it heals. We don't know what caused it. Besides being potentially dangerous it is also a nuisance as she has to sleep on the one side each night now.
Ange says Georgie has been having longer periods of wakefulness lately which is nice and she is a bit more responsive. She has an off night here and there but mostly been much more settled.
Been getting more sunny weather which is great.
We all five of us watched "faith like potatoes" last night- well worth watching.

Saturday 8th Aug

Days are gradually warming up so been great to get outside more with Georgie.

The infected ear has been a bit ugly but the infection does not appear to have spread and she has had no temp so we hope it is under control.

She has mainly been a bit more peaceful the last couple of weeks though coughing a bit at night which wears us out a bit.

Thanks for your encouraging comments. It is heart warming lately to also receive messages from various people to say they have not stopped praying.

A friend sent us a very encouraging dvd of 5 stories of healing. One girl had fybromyalgia for 5 years and was totally incapacitated and medical help could do nothing. She was healed by the Lord and has a wonderful testimony of His grace and healing power to her. She never understood why it took five years but kept on trusting.

Colossians 1 v 9 to 12.9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[c] the forgiveness of sins.

Well the Dr came out for his first ever at home visit ( not just to us but anywhere) (See, there are still new things happening)
He believes the swelling on the ear is not inner but an outer ear infection caused most likely by a bacteria so has started antibiotics today. The swelling had gone down a little by this morning. It was just so swollen and angry. Doc said if it did not respond to antibiotics she may need to go into hospital.
He also could not believe the otherwise good condition that Georgie is in and told Ange that Georgie was such a fighter that she would have to be in the top 1% for determination to live. Ange did not go into length about all of the answers to prayer which we know is the reason. Georgie was always quietly determined and always finished the job - whatever it happened to be. Anyway I think these comments cheered Ange up considerably.
Georgie been very peaceful today.

A pastor from my youth; Max Knight used to pray "Come Lord Jesus , come quickly!" Lately that is our prayer too.

A bit of an up and down week. The day nurse thinks Georgie has a middle ear infection. Dr is due to come out for his first at home visit in the morning.
What else is there?
